BIOHacking: Binaural Beats

We are always looking to find new, BETTER biohacks to help optimize our performance. What are these beats, you ask? Binaural beats are a tone created in the brain when it’s presented with two different frequencies at the same time. These beats can work to reduce stress and anxiety and increase focus, relaxation, and creativity. The binaural auditory beat that you hear is different in frequency between the left and the right ear and is at a frequency lower than 1000 hertz (Hz) for the brain to detect the binaural beat. 

 

How do I know which beat is BEST for me?

Delta beats are at a frequency between 0.1 and 4 Hz. Put these on when you desire a deep, dreamless sleep.

Theta beats are between 4 and 8 Hz frequency, which is associated with meditation and creativity.

Alpha beats are at a frequency between 8 and 13 Hz to encourage relaxation.

Beta beats are set at a frequency of between 14 Hz and 100 Hz to help promote concentration and alertness.

 

These beats are easy to come by too! Just search for whichever beat on your favorite music streaming platform and get to listening! For binaural beats to be most effective, avoid multitasking! Make sure you can devote 15-30 minutes to listening, in a quiet place, with headphones. To get the full and maximal effect of binaural beats, listen every day for 30 to 45 days.
